Medical specialists take action to retire
- Some 2,500 medical specialists in employment across 47 hospitals, conduct action Tuesday because of a dispute over pension money.
They will run a Sunday service, so patients are not operated. Patients requiring emergency care, however, be treated.
According to the Federation of Medical Specialists (FMS) the action therefore has no impact on patient safety. Specialists who do not work in employment are not participating in the actions. In total there are about 10 000 medical specialists in Dutch hospitals and rehabilitation centers.

Following the day of action, the cuts in pensions, implemented by the government. The doctors want this to be fully reimbursed by the hospitals. Since early last year to build the specialists on the salary above a barrel no longer under favorable tax conditions pension. According to specialists federation is now part of the employer's premium put into their own pockets by hospitals.
