Marine Israel stops Palestinian ship

gaza - The Israeli Navy has stopped a ship with seventeen Palestinian activists on board. The 'al-Hurija' (The Freedom) had sailed out of the port of Gaza on Tuesday, accompanied by a few small boats, with the intention of breaking through the sea blockade by Israel.

It did not work. According to a spokesperson for the Palestinians, the boat was forced to turn around a small 17 kilometers from the coast. Israel has not yet commented on the intervention.

On the al-Hurija, according to the organization, two Palestinians are taking part recently injured during the protest demonstrations in Gaza. Israel decided more than ten years ago for security reasons to a sea blockade. Egypt supported that. In April, the zone in which the Palestinians were permitted to fish was expanded from more than 11 to almost 17 kilometers.
