'Many website providers are still unsafe'

amsterdam - Many websites of healthcare providers are still missing a secure HTTPS connection. That says at least the organization for digital transparency of the Open State Foundation. 'Of the 22,393 websites examined by healthcare providers, only one third supports a connection that causes website traffic to be encrypted,' warns the organization.

HTTPS encrypts data, making it impossible for outsiders to find out what is being sent. Also, adaptation of the exchanged data by third parties is not possible.

Websites of hospitals and GPs are much more secure than those of other healthcare providers.
