Man dead by exploding wedding gift

amsterdam - A newly-married Indian died after a wedding gift exploded on opening. His grandmother also died in the explosion.

The drama occurred a few days after the Indian was married to his wife. During a reception of the married couple in Patnagarh, in the east of India, the two received their presents. One of the presents exploded immediately after the Indian opened it, let a relative know about The Hindustan Times.

The groom and the 85-year-old grandmother were seriously injured and had to be transferred to the hospital in haste. There they died a moment later.

The police are still in the dark about the sender and the motive.
