Malaysia intercepts record number of scales

kuala lumpur - The Malaysian authorities have seized a record number of scales of endangered scrub animals at Kuala Lumpur Airport. Customs found a tip of 712 kilos of scales in a warehouse, officials reported Monday.

The intercepted scales have a market value of about 2 million dollars (over 1.8 million euros). The authorities estimate that to obtain such a large amount of scales, about 1400 scales have been killed. Unknown, the illegal cargo in eighteen bags smashed the country. They used to use forged documents.

The freight found in Malaysia is from Ghana and Congo. The scales are eagerly deducted in Asia as a constituent in traditional medicines. It is unclear what the final destination of the scales in the department store was. No one has been detained.

According to the authorities, it is the largest load scales ever found in the Asian country. The scallop, or pangolin, is the most stripped animal on earth.
