'Longest suspension bridge in the world' opened

zermatt - An almost five hundred meter long suspension bridge was taken in Switzerland. Hikers can cross a ravine via the Europabrücke (Europa Bridge) at the Zermatt site, told the BBC Saturday.

According to the local Tourist Board, it is the longest suspension bridge for pedestrians in the world. The 494 meter long connection has a special system that prevents the bridge from shaking back and forth.

Although it would be the longest suspension bridge in the world, it's not the highest. For example, a 405 meter long bridge in the Austrian Reutte is about 110 meters above the ground.
