Loneliest prisoner in US free after 43 years

- Albert Woodfox was called the loneliest man in the United States. He was on his 69th birthday Friday released from West Felicianagevangenis in the state of Louisiana after he had been stuck in long isolation 43 years. His body had existed since 1972 from a cell of 180 to 270 centimeters.

The bulk of his sentence for murder he spent 23 hours a day in his cell minimal. One minor hour he was allowed to spend outside and that only happened. Inmates he never saw. Including the United Nations have condemned the sentence as a form of torture.

Woodfox has maintained his innocence for more than four decades. According to others he was the victim of black illustrated by an approach because he was politically active in the Black Panther movement and therefore deserved a beating. The case had been twice before and just as often deemed the murder was proven. By confessing part of the indictment, Louisiana was willing to let Woodfox free after 43 years, according to The Guardian.
