london - A teenager who committed a bomb attack on a British subway train was sentenced to life imprisonment. As a result of the attack, 51 people were injured at Parsons Green station last year.

The British judge ruled that the eighteen-year-old perpetrator wanted to 'kill as much as possible death and destruction'. The Iraqi asylum seeker would have planned the attack with 'ruthless determination and near-military efficiency'. The man is eligible for early release after 34 years, reports British media.

Because of the attack there were no deaths at the time. The homemade bomb went off only partially, but caused a fireball. Passengers thought their last hour had beaten. The perpetrator attempted to flee the country via Dover, but was arrested in the port.
