paris - Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, better known as Carlos the Jackal (Jackal) is sentenced Tuesday to life in prison for an attack in 1974.

The now 67-year-old terrorist was already a life sentence for his attacks in the seventies and eighties. However, he was recently re-indicted for an attack in 1974. Then he threw a grenade inside a Parisian shop, leaving two people dead and 34 others were injured.

The Jackal was arrested in Sudan in 1994 and convicted in Paris for the murder of two police officers and four deadly bombings in Paris and Marseille in 1982 and 1983. He became internationally known through a hostage at the headquarters in Vienna of OPEC, in 1975.

The Venezuelan terrorist called himself a leftist guerrilla who participated for the first time in 1973 to- unsuccessful- liquidation. His nickname the Jackal he received from journalists on the occasion of the book The Day of the Jackal, the author Frederick Forsyth.
