Let Cortana search Google instead of Bing

- By default Cortana using Bing for its search, but there is a way to set Google as the default if you prefer. Firefox or Chrome is a piece of cake.

Cortana in Windows 10 default search engine Bing for all searches. However, if you prefer that use is made of Google, it can, but there is no official method to change Cortana's search engine. Namely Windows has no built-in option for this.

The reason seems to be that Cortana itself is supported by Bing, that is to say that anything that can Cortana and knows arises from Bing. That works fine and makes little difference when it comes to giving the weather forecast or calculate a sum, but for ordinary searches prefer many people eventually Google.

It is possible to Cortana happy to carry out your search with Google, but for that you'll have to use Chrome or Firefox. Other browsers, including Internet Explorer, Edge and Microsoft, offer not support.

If you use Firefox, you can automatically change search engine Cortana without you need for add-ons from third parties. Namely you just need to download the latest version of Firefox and set it in Windows 10 default browser.

You can do this by searching in the search bar next to the Start button for standard programs. Then click on the search result Default Programs and scroll to default apps to web browser. Click on the set Firefox browser and select from the list that appears.

You can now choose which search engine in Firefox by default to be used by clicking into the search bar on the magnifying glass and search settings to choose change. Then you can choose a default search engine in the list. If you uncheck this search query put to use in Windows will now also be used by Cortana.

If you're using Chrome you will need an extension called Chrometana. Install the extension and then type chrome: // extensions in the address bar. Scroll down to Chrometana and click Options. This will open a new page where you can select desired search engine Cortana. The settings are applied as soon as you close the tab.
