Latvia builds fence to Russian border

- Latvia has started the construction of a fence along the border with Russia. The border fence must exclude illegal immigrants, writes the newspaper Neatkariga Rita Avize.
The barbed wire fence erected not far from the town Ludza, near the main road between Moscow and the Latvian capital Riga. It is 2.7 meters high and has a provisional length of 3 kilometers.
