washington - Two British fighters of terrorist organization Islamic State (IS) who are responsible for the torture and decapitation of Western hostages in Syria have been arrested by Kurdish forces. That confirms two government officials from the United States.

The duo belonged to the so-called IS-Beatles, a group of four British terrorists. Mohammed Emwazi, better known as Jihadi-John, belonged to this group. He was the man with the striking British accent that appeared in films in which he executed Western hostages and American journalists Steven Sotloff and James Foley. His death was confirmed by IS in January 2016.

The two have been identified as Alexanda Kotey and El Shafee Elsheikh. They have already been arrested in the east of Syria at the beginning of this year. IS is largely defeated in the area, but Abu Bakr al-Bagdadi, the leader of the organization is still fugitive.
