'La La Land' Golden Globes breaks record

- By winning seven Golden Globes, the musical tonight in Los Angeles established a new record. Never before were so many of these prizes to one film.

Damien Chazelle's La La Land won seven nominations in December, for a Golden Globe, prizes awarded annually by a group of foreign film journalists living in Hollywood and work. The film, with starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, she managed to redeem all seven. In addition to prizes for the two protagonists, La La La won Golden Globes for Best Film in the category Musical / Comedy, Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Film Music and Best Film Song.

With his previous film, three-time Oscar-winner Whiplash Threw director Damien Chazelle (31) even better chance. With La La Land, he made a modern movie musical that winked at the 'golden age' of the genre in Hollywood: the 40, 50 and 60 of the last century. Gosling plays in the film a jazz pianist who hopes to open his own club, Emma Stone embodies an actress trying to make it in Los Angeles.

Moonlight by director Barry Jenkins, about the life of a black boy in Miami, won the Golden Globe for Best Drama. The film lost in five different categories in which the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) was nominated for this title.

Isabelle Huppert came out on top as Best Actress in a Drama for her performance in Paul Verhoeven's debut French Elle. Casey Affleck won the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a drama with his role in Kenneth Lonergans Manchester by the sea.
