moscow - Russia wants burghers from the Syrian region of Ghouta to be able to leave at agreed times via an agreed route. The Russian Defense Minister Sergey Sjojgoe said that from February 27 there will be a 'humanitarian battle break' from 9 am in the morning until 2 pm in the afternoon, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.
According to Shojgoe, the battle break and the evacuation of civilians on behalf of President Vladimir Putin must prevent further civilian casualties from falling into battle. Since the spring of 2013, warriors and civilians have been besieged in a densely populated region east of Damascus. Earlier this month, the Syrian forces started an offensive.
