Korea's talk about 'hotline' between leaders

World April 6, 2018 07:33

seoul - North and South Korea are considering establishing a direct hotline between the leaders of the countries. That should enable dictator Kim Jong-un and President Moon Jae-in to 'regularly' consult, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reports.

Officials from the neighboring countries will discuss the possible arrival of such a direct connection on Saturday. It would be the first direct line between the leaders of the neighboring countries, which after the Korean War never officially concluded peace. Previously, other hotlines existed, which could for example be used by the armed forces of the neighboring countries.

Kim and Moon meet each other later this month. The men have a summit on 27 April.
