brussels - Albert II, the father of King Filip, has a new heart valve. After an operation, the 83-year-old previous king of the Belgians returned to his home in Brussels, according to a notice from the royal palace. He will recover further at Castle Belvédère.

The very old king, who 'reigned' from August 1993 to July 2013, has been suffering for years from a heart condition which he had already undergone in 2002. Recently it turned out that the corruption of his coronary arteries had worsened.

Last month he was admitted to the Saint-Luc University Hospital in Brussels for a new operation, after which the aortic valve was replaced on 30 April.

According to the palace, both operations went without complications and 'with very favorable results'. His wife, Queen Paola, came to pick him up again on Wednesday.
