beirut - By a fire in a tent camp with Syrian refugees in the east of Lebanon, several people died. 'Our teams have so far secured six bodies,' said the general secretary of the Lebanese Red Cross Thursday.
Syrian activists in the Bekaa Valley reported at least nine deaths. The number of victims can still increase, because many people also have severe burns.
According to reports, at least sixty tents went up in flames. The cause is not yet known. In the Lebanese border area there are numerous unofficial relief camps for Syrians who have fled the war. In the past, accidents of this nature have happened more often.
