Equal rights

For homosexuals, this means equal rights as heterosexual. Adopting a child becomes possible and they are able to assume each other's last name. Karl and Bodo did not choose for them, they retain their own name.

Michael Müller, Mayor of Berlin, looked forward to the wedding ceremony on Friday: "This day is an opportunity to congratulate the gay movement and to congratulate all those who committed themselves to homosexuality."
