lisbon - The Supreme Court of Portugal sees the innocence of the parents of the still unproven missing girl Madeleine McCann in 2007.

It appears from court documents that were made public Wednesday. From this it can be seen that the court finds that the fact that Kate and Gerry McCann were no longer considered suspects in 2008 because of insufficient evidence against them, does not mean they are automatically guilty.

The accusation that Kate and Gerry have put the abduction of Maddie in scene comes from the former police chief Gonçalo Amaral. In his book 'The truth of the lie' from 2008, he did his theory explained, in which the McCanns dragged him to court. Last week, the Supreme Court ruled that the kacht of the parents against the police is unfounded.

The court documents were made public yesterday are part of the case. The 76-page judgment was only then fully disclosed.\n  \n   \n    \n    \n   \n   \n   \n      \n   \n     Madeleine 'Maddie' McCann\n    \n   \n     Photo: Dutch Height

Madeleine McCann disappeared shortly before her fourth birthday on May 3, 2007 from an apartment in Praia da Luz in the Algarve in Portugal. The investigation also led to 1338 statements and collecting evidence in 1027 but brought no result on the circumstances of the disappearance.

Few things got so much attention as that of Madeleine. She was seen around the world and clues to her whereabouts were countless. But nothing led to a showdown. The reward from, inter alia, brought together by businessmen and newspapers, has risen to almost 4 million.

Kate and Gerry McCann fought for years to keep the matter to the attention. They themselves were initially suspected, but there was little evidence by the court against them. Police Amaral thinks Maddie was killed in the apartment and that the parents have put into the disappearance scene.
