Judge deletes extradition case Puigdemont

brussels - The court in Brussels has definitively crossed the extradition case of the Catalan ex-prime minister Carles Puigdemont and four of his former ministers. The judges formally terminated the procedure on Thursday as expected.

The decision is a logical consequence of the withdrawal by Spain of the European arrest warrant against the five. The Spanish and international arrest warrant are still in force. The five fighters for Catalan independence therefore remain in Belgium for the time being.

New elections will be held in Catalonia in a week.
