Joelia Skripal: I woke up a week ago

salisbury - Yulia Skripal woke up a week ago and gains strength every day, she reports via the British police. 'I am grateful for the many good messages I received,' writes the daughter of the former Russian double-spy Sergej Skripal.

Father and daughter Skripal have been in hospital since last month. They had been found unconscious on a bench in Salisbury. Later it appeared that they were infected with nerve gas. The BBC recently reported on the basis of anonymous sources that it is better with Yulia.

The police now confirm this by distributing a statement from her. She thanked her, among other things, the hospital staff and asks her to respect her privacy.

The Russian ambassador in Great Britain said that he is pleased with the recovery of Yulia and hopes that father Sergei will get better again.
