Jazz pianist Paul Bley (83) deceased

montreal - Pianist Paul Bley, one of the most influential jazz musicians of the past decades, Sunday deceased. The Canadian Bley died at the age of 83 at his home in Ottawa, surrounded by family, it was announced on Tuesday.

         Bley has recorded over a hundred albums during his career and has performed with many renowned musicians from the 'free jazz' on.,, Improvisation is food for the brains of the listener, '' he once said.
As a child Bley grew up with classical music and at age five, the musician born in Montreal gave his first performance with violin. Two years later, he discovered the piano and turned more and more into jazz. At thirteen, he founded his first band and played in clubs. At seventeen he was once the legendary Oscar Petersen and at twenty he played with Charlie Parker, Charles Mingus and Art Blakey.
The Canadian is considered one of the most innovative avant-garde pianists of his time. With fellow musicians he founded Jazz Composers Guild on the association of jazz composers. In 1974 he held his own record label Improving Artists godmother.
Nevertheless, he took his music with dozens of other labels, even once two albums in two countries in a single day. His last album was released in 2014, a recording of a concert in Oslo six years earlier.
