Japan strengthened naval Vietnam and Philippines

- Japan wants both Vietnam and the Philippines provide new patrol vessels. Japan helps the allies as Chinese expansionism in the South China Sea to cope. Japan itself embroiled with China in a similar battle over a set of uninhabited but strategically located islands in the East China Sea.

Japan sleet already used six patrol ships to Vietnam, but now wants to sell new copies the government in Hanoi. Hanoi may purchase them on credit. Tokyo Tuesday promised the Philippine government has two large patrol vessels and five second patrol aircraft.

China lays claim to just about the entire South China Sea, which contains a lot of natural resources and is important for shipping. Vietnam and the Philippines opposed the claims of their big neighbor.
