Italy gets 450 migrants from wooden boat

rome - In the Mediterranean, 450 migrants were rescued from a wooden boat that sailed near the Italian island of Linosa. They were transferred on Saturday morning to a ship of the Italian police and a Frontex ship, the EU agency that coordinates controls at the external borders of the European Union.

Eight women and children were brought to the Italian island of Lampedusa by the Coast Guard because of their state of health.
