Italy does not allow rescued migrants to disembark

rome - An Italian coast guard ship with 177 rescued migrants on board has arrived in the port of Catania. However, migrants are only allowed to disembark if other EU member states are prepared to receive them, say sources within the Ministry of the Interior against ANSA news agency.

The coastguard ship took the migrants from the sea last week. Minister Matteo Salvini (Home Affairs) has indicated that she wants to return them to Libya if they are not distributed across the EU. The politician of anti-immigration party Lega thinks that his country has already received enough asylum seekers and refugees.
