Islamic countries: Recognize East Jerusalem as the capital

On the initiative of Turkish President Erdogan, countries of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation met on Wednesday. The reason was the recognition by the American president Trump of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

The final statement also states that the US must withdraw as a mediator in the peace talks between the Palestinians and Israel.
