IS sympathizer gets lifelong for murder

linz - A 55-year-old IS sympathizer has been given life imprisonment for the murder of an elderly couple in the Austrian city of Linz. The man from Tunisia confessed the two to have died and then set fire to their house. Shortly after his deed he gave himself to the police.

The Jury Court sentenced the Tunisian, who has been living in Austria for 25 years, on Monday for murder, arson and threats against public prosecutors. Membership of Islamic State was not deemed proven. The defendant told that he wanted to take action against society and the right-wing party FPÖ, through whom he felt discriminated against as a foreigner and a Muslim. On Facebook he glorified the IS ideology and terror.

According to the psychic report, the man is responsible and dangerous. He will be locked up in an institution for special criminals.
