amsterdam - An estimated 3,500 people, including many women and children, are being held as slaves by the Islamic State in Iraq.

'It is especially for people from the Yezidi community, but also to other ethnic and religious minorities,' a UN commission wrote in a report published Tuesday. That IS slave holding has been previously known, but that it is 3500 people is new.
The atrocities which IS tends to be explained in detail in the report in detail. The terror army executes people by shooting them dead, to behead, to throw roofs of buildings, burning alive or run over by a bulldozer. The UN Commission hints that IS is guilty of crimes against humanity and possibly genocide.
The commission says it has evidence that child soldiers are killed by IS. Mosul, a city that is IS-owned since June 2014, between 800 and 900 children have been abducted. They would be subject to military and religious training.
'These numbers can hardly do justice to the terrible suffering of the Iraqi people,' said UN human rights chief Ra'ad Zeid al-Hussein. 'Countless people are not killed by overt violence, but by lack of basic necessities such as water and food. '
