Iran threatens again with intervention in Pakistan

teheran - Iran threatened Monday, if necessary, to take action against armed extremists in Pakistan who make the border area unsafe. 'We can not accept this happening,' said the head of Iranian forces against the state press agency IRNA.

Army leader Mohammad Baqeri came with that warning after ten Iranian border guards were shot dead from neighboring Pakistan last month. The military called on the Pakistani government to better guard the borders, to pick up the 'terrorists' and roll up their shelters. If it does not happen, then Iran will take action.

Iran also threatened to intervene in Pakistan in 2014. That happened after five Iranian border guards were hijacked. Pakistan then stated that such an operation would be a breach of international law. After mediation by a Sunni spirit, Tehran eventually decided to refrain from sending troops.
