tehran - Iran will send a Minister to a meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in Saudi Arabia. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs will Aragchi Abbas on the sidelines of the meeting speaking with Saudi counterparts on the relationship between Iran and Saudi Arabia, reported the Iranian news agency ISNA Tuesday.

The concert can be seen as a rapprochement with Iran after the relationship between that country and Saudi Arabia was seriously disrupted. The reason for this were the executions of, among others, the prominent Shiite cleric Nimr al-Nimr by Saudi Arabia. This led to violent protests in Iran.

Aragchi was one of the main negotiators on the nuclear discussions in Iran. He is seen as an experienced negotiator who may again poet can bring together the two Islamic countries. Sunni Saudi Arabia and Shiite Iran are seen as enemies of each other.
