The release is part of a prisoner exchange with the United States. The Americans set seven Iranians freedom which are currently in the US. In Tehran are except Rezaian former US Marine Amir Hekmat and the pastor released Abedini. The name of the fourth American prisoner of Iranian origin who regains his freedom, is unknown.
The prisoner exchange takes place while the US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif Vienna meeting on the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran.
