International protest against Korea nuclear test

seoul - A Wednesday morning from North Korea conducted nuclear test led to strong international protest. The United Nations Security Council meets in emergency session. North Korea is claiming for the first time successfully have done an underground test of a hydrogen bomb, which is more powerful than an atomic bomb.


         The trial caused a (artificial) earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1, which was measured in northeastern North Korea. The quake occurred near the test area Punggye-ri, where nuclear tests have been conducted. The nuclear test is the fourth of North Korea, the last was in 2013.
Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France and China on Wednesday strongly condemned the nuclear test. The countries called the trial a violation of the resolutions of the UN Security Council and calling for a strong reaction from the international community.
The UN Security Council imposed sanctions on North Korea after it had first been a nuclear test in 2006. It came Pyongyang facing some economic measures. South Korea calls for new sanctions against its neighbor.
North Korea said Wednesday that it will continue to strengthen the nuclear program,,, to protect themselves against the hostile policy of the United States. The country further said that it will behave as a responsible nuclear state,, and promised not to use its nuclear weapons unless the sovereignty of the DPRK is affected.
