Injured in accident Rio Carnival parade

rio de janeiro - At a large carnival parade in Rio de Janeiro has a driver of a vehicle, part of the procession, the power lost over the wheel and crashed into the audience. There were at least four wounded. A man was crushed between a gate and the heavy car.

The highlight of the carnival in Rio was so overshadowed by the accident. Right at the beginning of the finale of the best samba schools went wrong, and the procession was temporarily shut down. Several ambulances and fire engines rushed to the boulevard where the parade is held traditionally. When the victims were taken to hospital, the procession resumed. The dancers put a little later anyway out of respect for the wounded show again silent.

The new mayor of the largest city in Brazil, Marcello Crivella, demonstrative was not present at the carnival parade. The mayor is a very devout Protestant and former bishop of a sect and thus has nothing to do with the Catholic party.

The final of the samba schools is the highlight of the carnival in Rio. Twelve schools, each with more than 3,000 dancers and musicians compete for the prize of best samba school in 2017.

It is not the only incident at a carnival this year. During Mardi Gras, the American version of carnival, drove a car into the crowd. The jeep driver had been drinking too much. Three times more than the permitted blood alcohol level.
