In mid-May no more water will come out of the tap in Cape Town

cape town - The dreaded \u0026 # x27; Day Zero \u0026 # x27; no more water from the tap in the South African metropolis Cape Town is not already in April. Deputy Mayor Ian Neilson has reassured residents on Monday by saying that he expects water to run out in mid-May.

The cause of the delay in the disaster is a drop in water consumption in agriculture in the region. Neilson stressed, according to South African media, that it is not for the inhabitants of Cape Town, because they still consume too much water. He reminded that the ration is now a maximum of 50 liters of water per person per day. Approximately 120 liters of water per person per day are consumed in the Netherlands.

Cape Town has around 4.5 million inhabitants and millions of tourists come every year. The reservoirs that supply the city with water have been filled for only a third by drought. If the drought persists, the dramatic 'Day Zero' seems to break in the city on 11 May. Then there is no more tap water and the residents have to go to two hundred distribution points where the police and military distribute minimum rations of water.
