'Hygiene French restaurants could be better'

- The French food and authorities were not satisfied with the cleanliness in many Parisian restaurants. Checks in 1500 establishments in the capital received only 34 percent of the grade 'good' of the Directorate Food (DGal). This reported the newspaper Le Parisien on Monday.

The DGal has tested a long-restaurants and half years according to French consumers the result shows that there can be improved a lot. The study from July to December was extensive, but just a sample. Paris has more than 13 500 restaurants.

A sample in the province gave a more positive picture. In Avignon the DGal checked two hundred restaurants and it was 62 percent classified as hygienic good. The study would be a run to many more checks in France.
