Hundreds of Turkish soldiers sick after meal

ankara - Hundreds of Turkish soldiers have possibly encountered food poisoning in their barracks in the province of Manisa. Nearly six hundred soldiers, according to the Daily Sabah newspaper, reportedly suffered from nausea and vomiting.

The soldiers would get sick after dinner. According to Minister Fikri Işık (Defense), more than 370 men had to be admitted to the hospital. Other soldiers could be treated in the barracks.

The police arrested 21 people on Sunday morning, among which managers of the catering company that supplies food to military posts in the area. The provincial authorities had no further notice of doing business with the company.

It also hit the barracks last month. Then after a meal more than a thousand soldiers became ill. One person even came to die.
