Hundreds of stranded Puerto Rico airport

san juan - At the airport of the capital of San Juan in Puerto Rico hundreds of stranded travelers are looking for a way to leave the island. In the waiting room there are long queues waiting for travelers to check in on one of the scarce flights. Per day, only a few aircraft can leave the airport.

Puerto Rico was hit hard by Hurricane Maria who raged across the country last week. Most of the infrastructure on the island is still out of order. The official death toll of the hurricane is ten.

About 70,000 inhabitants in the Isabela and Quebradillas regions have been urged to seek a safe return. According to the authorities there is a great chance that the dam breaks through.
