Hundreds of arrests in operations against PKK

istanbul - Turkish police have arrested more than five hundred people in several operations across the country. They are suspected of links with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers movement PKK.

Among those arrested are members of the pro-Kurdish opposition party HDP. The Turkish government sees the HDP as an extension of the PKK. Police raided 25 provinces and took a total of 544 people, according to the state news agency Anadolu Tuesday.
