Hundreds more candidates for election in Iran

tehran - The powerful Guardian Council has approved additional in Iran Saturday hundreds of candidates to participate in the parliamentary elections later this month. The decision feeds the hopes of reformists and moderates in the country.

Since economic sanctions were lifted against Iran, the power struggle between conservatives and reformists has grown.

Last month closed the Guardian Council, 80 percent of the candidates for a place in the Assembly of Experts, consisting of 88 members. Saturday 1,500 possible new members were approved. The Council of Experts elect a replacement for the supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
