'Hugger' strikes down woman

- It is a known phenomenon in tourist spots like Times Square in New York: people offering 'free hugs'. Really Free hugs are not always because there are expected a tip. When a Canadian tourist who did not want to give, she got instead of a hug a punch.

The 22-year-old woman was just before the incident with the man went to the photo. When she refused to give the man a tip, he hit her in the face and he ran away.

The woman held a blue eye on, US media report. She was taken to hospital for checks. Using the photo she had of the perpetrator, the police could arrest him soon afterwards. He turned out to have been held more frequently for similar incidents.
