riyad - Shiite Houthi rebels have shot a rocket from Yemen on the Saudi capital Riyadh. The Saudi air defense would have knocked down the projectile.
Eyewitnesses in Riyadh report having heard a loud bang, according to news agency Reuters. They saw a plume of smoke shortly after the explosion.
It is certainly not the first time that the Houthi's Riyadh are trying to bombard with a ballistic missile. The intended target was not affected even in previous attempts. According to the US, the missiles are delivered by Iran to the Houthis.
