Houston is struggling with severe floods
houston - Due to the continued rainfall, more and more parts of Houston suffer from floods. About 1000 people have already been rescued from their homes, CNN reports. In just a few hours, there was more than 355 millimeters, in the Netherlands that is the amount of precipitation that falls in four months. That reports Weatherplaza.
The extreme rainfall is a side effect of hurricane Harvey, which has now become a tropical storm. The rivers have fallen out of their banks due to the abundant precipitation.
Over the next few days there will be another 500 millimeters of rain and will overflow more parts of the Texan city.
The weather services advised the residents of Houston not to go to the cellar.
