hurghada - A popular tourist hotel in Hurghada, Egypt, was evacuated after the mysterious death of two English guests.

At first it was said that John and Susan Cooper died in the Steigenberger Aqua Magic Hotel shortly after each other because of a heart attack.

But travel organization Thomas Cook has been investigating whether it is possible to make a major outbreak of food poisoning. Until then, three hundred guests were accommodated elsewhere, the Daily Mail writes. Among them also twenty Belgians.

Cook would have found that several people have become ill in the Red Sea complex.

The newspaper says that it has spoken to several people who have gone home sick. According to the Mail, according to them, this had to do with the hotel food in all cases. On BBC4, a woman tells that at least forty guests were unwell last week.

'The food was badly cooked and sometimes even raw'. A father of a 16-year-old girl says in the Mail that his daughter came back ill. Food poisoning was detected in the hospital.

Thomas Cook has offered everyone a different place in Hurghada or a trip home. The current bookings of the hotel have been canceled 'out of precaution', the tour operator says in a reaction.
