- A hot air balloon with nine people on board Saturday night in the middle of the Starnberg Lake in Bavaria made an emergency landing. All crew members, ranging in age from fourteen to 62 years, were rescued by boats. One of the crew was slightly injured.

The balloon was a round trip of 90 minutes left in the village Tutzing, right on the lake. On board was for 2 hours gas present. Above the lake ruled unexpectedly complete calm, allowing the balloon became unmanageable. Initially it was tried with a line from the floor to pull the balloon to land, which failed. The balloon consumed at all its gas and ended up in the lake. The last person on board and the pilot landed in the cold water. The passenger was taken to a hospital with hypothermia.
