oregon - A music fan bought a used LP and saw in the case a heartbreaking letter from a mother who lost her son in 2002 at the age of 39 of a heart attack. Reddit user Muctur shared a picture of the letter on Imgur.

Sabine, who signed the letter, as shares the story of her son Mark, who held the record before it ended up in the thrift store. Mark had a heart attack while he ran in the mountainous region on the Oregon coast.

'This is the music that he collected in the 80s,' Sabine says in the letter. 'I asked him once what to do with all those records as it would hurt. '

His response was that they had to listen to the music, and she did. 'But now it's time to share the plates. The money they collect goes to Mark's son Kai to pay for his studies. 'The album in question is an original Soundgarden- Superunknown on blue vinyl.

Sabine closes the letter out beautifully: 'Thanks for your support- and if you listen it, the music gets loud for Mark!'
