geneva - ,, There is a very low risk 'of further spread of the zikavirus by the Olympics in Brazil, the heart of the current outbreak. That said, experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday.

The WTO panel, which held its third conference on the mosquito-borne zikavirus, confirmed its earlier opinion that,, no general restrictions on travel and trade are needed in countries where zika '. The same applies to cities in Brazil where to start the fifth of August Olympics. What the experts regard the Games need for a zikavirus therefore not be moved or shifted.

,, The risks for people who go to the Olympics, are no different than for other areas where an outbreak of zika is, '' said David Heymann, chairman of the panel of experts at the WHO in Geneva after the meeting.

The virus is rampant, according to the WHO now in nearly sixty countries. A displacement of the Olympics would therefore have no significant impact on the spread of the disease.

Recently had a group of about 150 health experts in an open letter urged to not let the event go because of the risk of contamination. The WHO said then that the Games,, no significant effect 'will have on the spread of the virus.

The special panel that deals with the zikavirus only assess the health risks; it is to decide on the International Olympic Committee or continue the Games in Rio de Janeiro, the WHO emphasized earlier.
