riyad - Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri has announced via Twitter that he is 'on his way to the airport' in Saudi Arabia.
Hariri announced unexpectedly in Saudi Arabia on November 4 that he had resigned. He did so in protest against Iran's interference with Arab affairs via the Lebanese Shiite Hezbollah movement. His step raised many questions and led to speculation that he was being held against his will.
'Claiming that I am being held in Saudi Arabia and can not leave the country is a lie,' said Hariri. 'I am on my way to the airport... '
According to a member of his party, Hariri does not return directly to Lebanon, but he travels from France first to Riyadh.
