Hail kills four people in China

hunan - Four people Sunday in China died from hailstones as big as chicken eggs. The deadly projectiles came down in the southern province of Hunan, the newspaper reported.

Hail, rain and high winds lashed the province so violently that 5,000 people had to be evacuated. More than nine hundred houses collapsed under the heavy rain fell. The force of the hail was so great that even laminated car windows and roofs of houses were found not withstand the impact.

China's meteorological institute has warned of more heavy rain. Hunan sigh for several days under heavy precipitation. Persistent rains have caused flooding and landslides.
