berlin - Foreign hackers have invaded secure networks of German government services. That means sources within the security services against DPA news agency. The hackers would be part of the group APT28, which is also known under the name Fancy Bear.

The sources say that, among other things, the German Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense were targets of the hackers. They allegedly grabbed data and left behind malicious software. The German security services would have known about the cyber attack since the end of last year.

APT28 is being held responsible for cyber attacks on Western targets such as the US Democratic Party, NATO, the White House, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the Dutch Safety Board, which is investigating the disaster of flight MH17. These are all organizations that Russia has great difficulty with. This is one of the reasons why the hacker group is associated with the Kremlin.
