H \u0026 M closes South Africa stores for protests

cape town - Clothing chain Hennes \u0026 amp; Mauritz closed its branches in South Africa early on Saturday, after demonstrators had invaded the stores and destroyed items. The reason for the protests was a fashion photo that the store chain had placed on the website that was considered offensive and racist.

On social media you can see that protesters are overturning clothes racks. Photos show images of, among other things, mannequins lying on the ground. Also according to News24 shots have been heard. H \u0026 M felt compelled to 'temporarily' close the 17 branches in the country. According to the store chain, none of the staff has been injured.
